Ortustech 14.5 cm (5.7”) TFT COM57H5M25KLC – compact, flat, lightweight, sunlight readable!

Ortustech Technology  – a very well-known Japanese manufacturer of TFT modules - offers a wide product range of small and medium sized TFTs, with screen sizes from 5.6 cm (2.2”) up to 16.5 cm (6.5”).

One key product is the 14.5 cm (5.7”) TFT COM57H5M25KLC, produced in Blanview technology. The TFT has a very compact outline with size of 130.32 mm x 101.2 mm and a thickness of 7.06 mm. It weighs only 85 grams. The display has a VGA resolution of 640 * 480 dots and an operating temperature range between -20°C and +70°C. It is the perfect solution for applications that have high specifications for size, weight and operating temperatures.

Ortustech TFTs are designed for the industrial market, so a minimum life time of 5 years is guaranteed. Due to the use of HAST technology (Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT) the TFTs have brilliant optical performance in areas such as viewing angle 80°/80°/80°/80° and contrast ratio of 400:1. A LED life time of 50.000 h (half-life time) is an additional key feature of the new series. A version with a life time of 70.000h is currently under development.

The BLANVIEW technology has been developed for outdoor use with direct sunlight where normal TFTs often fail due to poor readability. The new BLANVIEW LCD achieves a pure white screen by optimizing colour balance. The transmission factor is about 30% higher than conventional TFTs. BLANVIEW is the perfect technology for battery driven, handheld applications.
